 Location: Aliso and Wood Canyons Wilderness Park

Engage your brain along with your body on a 4-mile hike in beautiful Aliso & Wood Canyons while we share our favorite books. Come prepared to contribute a title or two and leave with the anticipation of some great new reads as well as a relaxed and exercised body. Led by a LCF volunteer naturalist & reader. Elevation gain of 300 ft. on terrain that can be uneven and rocky. A hat, sunscreen, hiking shoes, water and snack are recommended.

  • Aliso & Wood Canyons Wilderness Park, Canyon View Staging Area (from southbound Aliso Creek Road, turn right on Glenwood [turns into Pacific Park] and right on Canyon Vistas. Meet at the entrance to Canyon View Park).

This year, millions will be reading the adorable Bunny Cakes by Rosemary Wells (starring the popular long-eared duo Max and Ruby), hoping to break the world record for the most people reading the same book on the same day.  Last year, the record was 2,462,860!

Teens assist elementary and middle school students with homework assignments. This drop-in program is held downstairs in the Conference Room. When school is not in session, there will be no homework help.

No registration required.

No Homework Help  when the library is closed or during school vacations.  Trained high school volunteers help elementary school children with their homework in the Library Meeting Room.  Parents need to register their students at their first session. No Homework Help during Thanksgiving Vacation Week.

On October 21, 2014, people across the country will unite to read the children’s book Bunny Cakes, a comical story of sibling bonding and birthday shenanigans, by bestselling author and illustrator Rosemary Wells.

Last year 2,462,860 adults and children around the world participated in this event. Come read with us and see if we can break the record!
