The Wonderful Life of a Dying Tree
OC Parks - Laguna Niguel Regional Park
 Location: Laguna Niguel Regional Park

The Southern California Bluebird Club has launched a new program to preserve dead and dying trees through a pilot program in Laguna Niguel Regional Park.

OC Parks has partnered with the Southern California Bluebird Club, the Cavity Conservation Initiative, and the Community Roots Academy to allow the Academy students to offer a free educational program for park visitors. The purpose of this student-taught event is to pass on to the public what they have learned about the value trees have for the wildlife, especially to cavity nesting birds and many other species that live in these trees. The third graders will also use this opportunity to plant a sycamore tree for the future benefit of park wildlife. The event promises to be fun and enlightening for all ages.
