Outdoor book sales are held every other month, on the 3rd Friday and Saturday of the month. Occasionally exceptions are announced.
The hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm both days. The Outdoor Sales are held in the conference room and book store courtyard of the library.
These sales have a much larger selection of books than there is room for in the book store.
Prices are right! Hardcover Fiction 4 for $1. Nonfiction and Childrens books $0.25 to $2.00. A few books over $2.00. Paperbacks $0.25 to $0.75.

E-Waste event, Identity theft protection and free document shredding OCPW - PublicEd - General
Residents and businesses can bring their paper records/documents in a standard size file box (no larger than 10” X 12” X 15”) or paper grocery bags to the event and there will be shredding trucks on site to shred your documents at no cost to you while you watch! (No 3-ring binders and big binding clips). Due to the capacity of the shredding trucks and in order to accommodate all of our participants, there will be a limit of ten (10) boxes per household/business. Excess documents will not be accepted. Staff will be on site to distribute pamphlets and answer questions regarding identity theft. There will also be a truck and large bins to collect your electronic waste items.

OC Parks invites you to join a Park Ranger Reserve on this 2.5 mile nature hike exploring the beautiful scenery of Borrego Canyon.
The Borrego Canyon Trail, which parallels the intermittent Borrego Stream, offers a wonderful opportunity to witness an abundance of wildlife while hiking through lush oak woodlands and alongside riparian habitats.

The Wonderful Life of a Dying Tree OC Parks - Laguna Niguel Regional Park

The Southern California Bluebird Club has launched a new program to preserve dead and dying trees through a pilot program in Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
OC Parks has partnered with the Southern California Bluebird Club, the Cavity Conservation Initiative, and the Community Roots Academy to allow the Academy students to offer a free educational program for park visitors. The purpose of this student-taught event is to pass on to the public what they have learned about the value trees have for the wildlife, especially to cavity nesting birds and many other species that live in these trees. The third graders will also use this opportunity to plant a sycamore tree for the future benefit of park wildlife. The event promises to be fun and enlightening for all ages.

World War II Bombardier, Charles “Norm” Stevens relates his account in the 351st Bomb Group based in Polebrook, England and as a 19-year old from California who finds himself in the plexiglass nose of a B-17 flying bombing raids over Germany.
Now 88, Stevens has authored three books which will be available for purchase and book signing after the event: An Innocent at Polebrook: A Memoir of an Eighth Air Force Bombardier, The Innocent Cadet, and Back From Combat.
