NEWS

Marriage ceremony room in the South County Branch Office, suite 160.

CLERK-RECORDER'S SOUTH COUNTY BRANCH OFFICE EXPANSION NOW OPEN FOR BUSINESS

This past May, Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen announced the opening of the expanded South County Branch Office in Laguna Hills, which opened on May 25. The new expansion suite adds six new service windows to make the office run smoother and more efficiently, while accommodating South County’s growing population.

The new expansion suite located in suite 160 of the Laguna Hills Civic Center offers marriage services with a large and well appointed ceremony room which can hold more guests than the previous suite. Document examining is also housed in the new expansion suite, and now offers two document examiners instead of one. This eliminates the need for document examining lunch closures and ensures that an examiner is always available. Customers will also save time and money by not having to travel to the department’s central office in Santa Ana. The Laguna Hills office will continue to offer free and convenient parking.

Birth, death, and marriage certificates, fictitious business name statements, notary public registrations, and much more will remain available at the department’s original office in suite 150 of the Laguna Hills Civic Center.

The Laguna Hills Civic Center is located at 24031 El Toro Road in Laguna Hills. Both suite 150 and suite 160 are open from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS

Clerk-Recorder employee of the month presentation slide for June 2022.

Each month we recognize an employee who goes above and beyond their normal duties and offers excellent service to our customers. The Employee of the Month receives a certificate of recognition, has their name placed on a recognition plaque and may dress casual during their month of recognition.

It gives me great pleasure to announce Jennifer Luong as Employee of the Month for June.

Since joining the department in April 2021, Jennifer has been the Sr. Accountant for the department’s Finance Unit overseeing accounting and auditing duties. She took the lead role in preparing surprise cash audits and updating and compiling the department’s cash handling procedures. She most recently took the lead on the OC Time user acceptance testing and payroll upload simulation with little supervision and succeeded at both. Thanks to Jennifer’s initiative and diligent work, the department completed all the mandatory testing within the established deadlines ensuring that the department will easily transition to these new systems. Thanks to her great work, she has earned the trust of her superiors, demonstrating that she can be counted on to complete these special assignments in a timely manner.

Jennifer is a fantastic team player and gets along well with her staff, coworkers, and managers. She looks for ways to help others and ties her success to the success of the department. She does a great job at developing long and short-term plans and anticipates the needs of the Finance Unit effectively. Her can-do attitude plays a huge part in the success of the Finance Unit as a whole, while making it a great place to work.

Jennifer goes out of her way to make people feel special by decorating her staff’s cubicles for their birthdays, special events and holidays. This is a great way for Jennifer to build a great team and helps boost the morale of her unit and the department as a whole. Her efforts are appreciated by all.

Please join me in congratulating Jennifer on her achievement!
